Hats off to Alberton Eisteddfod
After months of preparation and hard work, the gala evening of the Alberton Eisteddfod was held.

Section winners received their awards and we were able to celebrate their amazing achievements.
This year the committee, under the leadership of W Barkhuizen, and the head organisers dealt with approximately 30,000 entries in many different categories from dance to drama, poetry to choirs and many more. It is indeed a privilege to give learners the opportunity to develop their skills in the cultural field.
We do see and experience such talent in our youth.
Preparation work starts at the end of the year to compile the syllabus for the next year. In the new year, the organisers await the arrival of the entry slips. Then the big sorting job starts.
All these entries are sorted into categories, programmes are compiled and then the BIG days are there for our participants to take part.
The programme runs for about seven weeks. We want to thank all the schools and churches who are making their venues available. We appreciate you.
A big thank you goes to the chairperson, committee members, helpers, parents and participants and last but not least our adjudicators. You do make a difference in our community.
We appreciate you. Best wishes for your future endeavours. We are looking forward to next year’s eisteddfod.
