Bring the family to celebrate the Year of the Wood Snake

Don't miss the lunar New Year filled with a day of entertainment, performances and exciting activities for all ages.

Join The Chinese Association, Gauteng (TCA) on February 1 for the annual Chinese New Year festival at the Alberton Rugby Club.

The celebration will be from 14:00 to 21:00, marking the Lunar New Year, dedicated to the Wood Snake this year.

The association looks after the interests of the Chinese community while partnering and working with the broader South African communities to develop a mutual understanding of each other.

The festival will feature a range of craft and food stalls, expertly coordinated by ‘The Night Market’. Families can enjoy a variety of attractions, including inflatables, theme park rides for children, and helicopter flips.

The live entertainment will showcase traditional and contemporary Asian performances, including lion and dragon dances and singers. There will also be a display of vehicles.

The highlight of the evening will be the spectacular musical fireworks display that Starburst Pyrotechnics will stage at 20:00 to end the evening.
