Donors bring smiles to the children of Jackson informal settlement
Fun all the way for the children of Jackson informal settlement.
Children from the Jackson informal settlement in Eikenhof got a treat of stationery and sweet packets on January 11.
Tammi Ardent with Zurich Foundation, Amanda Crook, Shoneez Fick who organised with Rene Parker from Child Reach and Lucky Ramoshaba from Kingdom Kids made possible this donation.
Michelle Rawbone, who organised the children, said they gathered on the soccer field in the morning.
“When Tammi and friends with Shoneez Fick and Amanda Crook arrived, the children burst into the ‘Thank you’ song. The donors’ faces lit up with love and appreciation. The children were in queues and each received packets of stationery and sweets.
“After it was given to the children, Tammi and friends painted the children’s faces and the men played soccer with the boys. There was a lot of running and falling, but everyone had fun.
“Thank you to all who contributed, including Tammi Ardent, Zurich Foundation and Child Reach,” Rawbone said.
