Reckless and negligent driver found guilty and imprisoned

A man went to the Community Service Centre to report that he had witnessed an accident on Silver Lane in Ormonde on May 15, 2019, at about 07:20.

He followed the vehicle that fled the scene. The Booysens SAPS opened a docket of attempted murder and reckless and negligent driving.

Warrant Officer Louisa van Schalkwyk investigated the docket.

After obtaining all the statements and finding the witnesses, the docket was put on the roll with the court.

On May 3, the court ruled that the complainant was guilty and sentenced him to 12 years imprisonment, suspended for five years.
