Murder case postponed for heads of arguments

The case is postponed to February 8.

Magistrate Habib described arguments by murder accused Kleave van Staden’s defence as elementary, hence the postponement to February 8.

This after Van Staden appeared again at Booysens Magistrate’s Court on January 19.

Prosecutor Bikwa presented his closing arguments for the murder case and then defence attorney Munyai did hers.

While presenting, defence attorney Munyai had to be interrupted often by Habib as several issues were not stated clearly. Habib asked her to supplement her arguments because they were elementary.

On February 8, defence attorney Munyai will present her amended arguments and prosecutor Bikwa will have the right of reply on the day.

Van Staden is accused of murdering his wife Jamillah on January 8, 2022 in Forest Hill.
