Sekhu spoke about the importance of this search and recovery operation.
“Many key role players have come together to carry out an operation to recover government property and catch those responsible for the theft. This is a key issue that we are tackling as infrastructure is being damaged and stolen by criminals for far too long. It has caused problems in terms of accidents and has hindered infrastructure development,” said Sekhu.
A search of a scrap yard in Kibler Park was also carried out and stolen electricity cables were recovered there as well.
The scrap yard was also found to have an illegal electricity connection, which City Power officials cut off.
