UPDATE: Arrest made after deadly Glenanda shooting
Police confirm a murder case after one man was killed and two others injured in a shooting in Gleneagles.
A man was shot dead, and two others were injured during a violent incident that took place last week, on March 12, in Glenanda, south of Johannesburg.
According to unconfirmed reports, an altercation broke out between two individuals, during which multiple shots were fired.
It is reported that one person was killed, while another sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical treatment. A third person, believed to be a bystander, was also injured during the incident.
Police and emergency personnel attended the scene, where the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
District communication officer Lieutenant Colonel Tshetlhane confirmed that a case of murder has been opened at Mondeor police station.
βIt is alleged that a 38-year-old man was shot in the street. Paramedics certified him dead at the scene after he sustained bullet wounds to his body,β said Tshetlhane.
A 31-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting. The motive for the incident remains unknown at this stage.
Police investigations are continuing.
