WATCH: 6 to 8 gunshots heard: 2 men killed in Rosettenville

Two men were shot dead at a rented house on Berg Street, with security teams and emergency services responding to the scene.

Two men were shot and killed at a house on Berg Street, Rosettenville, on Wednesday, September 30.

Moffat View CPF PRO Sipho Hlatshwayo said neighbours reported seeing a grey Toyota Corolla sedan in the area yesterday and again today.

According to the neighbours, four occupants were in the vehicle today. Two men allegedly entered the house while the other two remained in the vehicle.

The two men who entered the house allegedly shot two people dead before leaving the scene.

The house is rented out to tenants. The deceased were not tenants but were visiting the house at the time of the shooting.

Hlatshwayo said neighbours reported hearing between six and eight gunshots.

He added that, according to the neighbours, the same vehicle was parked at the corner of Julius and Berg streets on both days.

Security teams respond

CPS Security director Tyrone van der Merwe confirmed that two men were shot dead.

He said CPS Security responded to panic signals from the property at 12:16.

CPS Security, Guardian Angel Security, Moffat View SAPS and Gauteng Emergency Medical Services Rescue are currently at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being investigated.
