Joburg Water tour with residents

Water is life and it needs to be valued.

Ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame recently secured a tour with Joburg Water to educate the residents on how to not waste water.

She said the tour enlightened them about what happens from the minute the toilet is flushed and where the waste ends up.

Joburg Water also alluded that the biggest issue they have is that residents flush everything down the toilet or the drains, from sanitary pads to used condoms, and even bedding sheets will be flushed down a drain.

“Water is essential to life we cannot live without it. We all need to play our part in ensuring we preserve and save water daily, by making small changes to our everyday habits. Reporting water leaks or fixing it yourself is very important, including reporting the water metre thieves,” she said.
