WATCH: Senior citizens benefit from geyser and JoJo tank sponsorship

Councillor Rashieda Landis thanked everyone involved with the sponsorship.

Ward 55 Clr Rashieda Landis thanked Salaam Media for sponsoring the Booysens SAPS with a 1 000-litre JoJo tank.

She said this was in light of the ongoing water crisis in Johannesburg, so Salaam Media stepped up to the challenge.

“They organised two tankers during the first crisis of almost 15 days. It was such a blessing. And all the residents who opened their hearts and allowed other residents to collect water from their homes. I thank you all.

“We continued our partnership with Salaam Media and other sponsors. I thank all involved. What a humanitarian act. Water is life,” she said.

JoJo Tank and geyser sponsorship

Salaam Media and its sponsors brought joy to the Bellavista Old Age Home.

Rashieda said the seniors were overwhelmed that they did not have to carry buckets during a water crisis. It is frustrating and affects all residents.

“The platform is complete, and the JoJo tank will be mounted. This will allow our seniors to get water without any strain, and no bending, just open the tap. Thanks to Salaam Media and other sponsors.

“They installed a much-needed geyser for a resident, especially in this cold weather, as a Mandela Day initiative,” she said.

Jan Phillipson from Bellavista Old Age Home thanked Salaam Media for helping.

“They installed my geyser and will also put it on Unit 7. Again, they also gave us two 500-litre JoJo tanks. We are grateful because they will also help us fix the leaking pipes here,” he said.
