Councillor Wissler helps expectant mom in need

It was a heartwarming experience for an expectant mother when the community came together to help her.

Clr Sarah Wissler acknowledged the Ward 23 residents for being the best after they helped an expectant mother.

Wissler said the mother from the South got more than she expected when people opened their hearts for donations to her.

“I asked for help to get her sorted, and we got in abundance. The young lady who had nothing got a massive gift of everything needed for the birth of her baby. On top of that, the local crèche, Leaping Ahead, will take care of the baby for free after he is born while mommy learns a skill, thanks to Nail Studio and Ivonne Bushney. She can make money once she’s finished training at the nail studio, so she’ll have a job.

Some of the items donated by caring community members.

“Thank you, Sandra Santos, from Leaping Ahead Pre-School, and mommies for the kind donations I collected and other residents who brought items all week,” she said.

The expectant mother said the donations were unexpected and thanked Wissler for organising it.
“I thank her for help and the contribution from all the residents. I didn’t expect this,” she said.
