Glenanda Primary learner takes first position

Glenanda Primary School learner's participation in Science Olympiad earns her way to provincials.

Hakifah Kareem, a Grade Four learner from Glenanda Primary School, took first position in the District Science Olympiad.

The aim of the Olympiad is to help learners prepare for the year’s upcoming natural science syllabus and showcase some of South Africa’s brightest young scientists in the making.

The competition questions encourage all learners, those who love science and those who have never been exposed to the fascinating world of science, to take physical sciences, life sciences and mathematics at high school level and to consider a career in science, engineering or technology.

She expresses her gratitude to her teacher, Vuyisani Lawana, parents and school for their support. Hakifah will be representing Glenanda Primary School in the Provincial Science Olympiad next month.
