Mourning is over, a new single for Cherry Amij

Cherry Amij wants to start 2024 with a bang.

Cherry Amij Tshibamba from Rosettenville has released a new song, Topanzi Matanga.

Topanzi Matanga is the Lingala language from the Democratic Republic of Congo and means ‘mourning is over’. It is in the rhumba genre (kwasa kwasa), and he wrote and composed it. Amij sings and features Hugo Ngoyi.

Khomba Music published the track.

He said the inspiration is from the book of Luke 24:5-6. The song’s message is, “Whatever mourning, suffering, pain, etc, it is over now. It’s no longer time to cry but to celebrate’.

He said it is the same thing the angels said to the women who sought Jesus in the tomb: “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”
