St Martin School, girls and boys boarding house dedication outlines learner living space.

St Martins School conducted a prayer ceremony as a blessing and to officially dedicate the boys’ and girls’ boarding houses to the Lord on July 10.

As the school opened its new boys boarding house on Yvonne Street, The Hill, Bishop Mkhulesi Sobantwana and Reverend Thabo Rafuku blessed all the buildings and prayed for those who will reside within them.

Learners from grades seven to 12 will be able to live on campus and it allows learners who live in other areas or even internationally, to stay at the boarding house.

The school owned the building where the girls’ boarding house is situated since the 1980s, but they recently acquired the building for the boys’ boarding house.

“A boarding house has always been a drawing card for the school, and parents and learners appreciate this feature of our school,” said Warren Venter, principal of the school.

“We had to bless our beautiful houses and dedicate them in prayer,” he said.
