Mall of the South unveils innovative sculpture competition

Experience the ultimate fusion of art, sustainability, and community spirit.

This holiday season, Mall of the South is proud to present a groundbreaking initiative that showcases creativity, sustainability, and local talent.

The recycle, reimagine, renew sculpture competition invites local artists from Johannesburg south to create unique pieces that highlight the importance of environmental conservation and the power of reimagining waste as art.

Eight shortlisted sculptures will be displayed throughout the mall, replacing the usual, traditional festive decorations.

Visitors can vote for their favourite pieces via QR codes on the displays at the mall. Voting closes on February 1, 2025.

The top two winners will receive a grand prize of R20 000 each.

The winning sculptures will also become a permanent feature at the mall.
