Golfers swing for a cause at Kwezi Zola’s first-ever charity golf day
The home drew local golfers to raise vital funds for the home’s programs and services.
The Kwezi Zola Old Age Centre recently hosted its first charity golf day at Reading Country Club.
It was an event that exceeded expectations and brought together the community for a noble cause.
The old age centre’s team admitted to feeling nervous, as it was their inaugural attempt at such a fundraising event, but the day was a resounding success.
The event raised much-needed funds that will help to improve the quality of life for the residents at the home.
The founder, Zola Majoro, highlighted: “We had two board members who could join; four staff members were present and three residents who were in attendance – some experienced their first time on a golf course.”
One resident shared: “It was a wonderful experience. It was exciting to be part of something so special.”
The Kwezi Zola team also met other golfers who committed to assisting them with another charity golf day in November next year.
“With the support of local golfers and sponsors, we are already looking forward to making this charity golf day an annual tradition,” shared Majoro.
