Highveld Primary needs transport
The school would be deeply grateful for any assistance you can provide.
After the Highveld Primary School kombi was stolen a few weeks ago, the school has been struggling to meet some of its objectives, which is affecting the learners’ educational experiences.
This vehicle was essential for transporting the learners to sporting events, educational outings, and various extramural activities that enrich their educational experience.
The impact on the learners:
• Many children can now not participate in netball, soccer, chess competitions, and other important developmental activities.
• The remaining single bus is insufficient to meet the transportation needs of the student body.
• Educational field trips and community engagement opportunities have been severely limited.
• Extracurricular programmes that build character and create opportunities are now at risk.
Lara Wood from the school said due to the age of the stolen kombi; the insurance payout falls significantly short of what’s needed to purchase a replacement vehicle. As a school already operating under financial constraints, they cannot bridge this gap without community support.
How you can help:
The school is reaching out to compassionate community members, businesses, and media partners to assist in one or more of the following ways:
• Financial contribution: Any amount toward the purchase of a replacement vehicle.
• Vehicle donation: A second-hand kombi or similar vehicle in good condition.
• Sponsorship connection: Introducing them to potential corporate sponsors.
• Media coverage: Sharing the story to help reach potential.
Every child deserves access to a complete education, including the sports and extramural activities that build essential life skills.
