Marist Brothers Linmeyer celebrate Champagnat Day with Mass
From Mass to games and a lively fundraiser, Champagnat Day at Marist Brothers Linmeyer was one to remember.

On June 6, Marist Brothers Linmeyer High School celebrated its annual Champagnat Day, honouring the life and legacy of St Marcellin Champagnat, founder of Marist schools worldwide.
The day began with a special Mass in the high school quad. The Marist Brothers Linmeyer community gathered to reflect on St Champagnat’s values of faith, education, and service.
The Mass was led by His Eminence Archbishop Stephen Cardinal Brislin, accompanied by several local priests. It was a meaningful celebration that united learners, staff, and the wider community in prayer and reflection.

After the Mass, the school hosted a fundraiser in support of the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa).
A vibrant sprayathon and shavathon took place, where learners, staff, and alumni either sprayed their hair in bright colours or shaved their heads to show solidarity with those affected by cancer. The event showcased the school community’s generosity and compassion.
Meanwhile, younger pupils in the pre-school and primary school enjoyed a morning of games and picnics. These fun-filled activities allowed them to bond with one another while learning more about their school’s history and values.

The day was a heartwarming example of the strong sense of community at Marist Brothers Linmeyer.
The school extends its sincere thanks to everyone who took part, especially His Eminence Archbishop Stephen Cardinal Brislin and the local priests for leading the Mass, and all who contributed to the Cansa fundraiser.
