High 5 Programme brings mental wellness to Our Lady of Lebanon School
The interactive theatre show used music, dance, and storytelling to help children tackle stress, anxiety, and everyday challenges.
The High 5 interactive theatre show visited Our Lady of Lebanon Primary School in Liefde en Vrede on September 10.
The show was first launched across 25 Johannesburg primary schools in October 2024, engaging around 12 000 learners aged eight to 11 with remarkable success.
Designed to address the growing concerns of stress and anxiety that children face in today’s fast-paced, digitally driven world, High 5 equips students with vital tools to handle these challenges in a positive way.

The team delivered a dynamic 50-minute programme tailored for the students, focusing on kindness, resilience, safety, bravery, and authenticity through interactive activities, discussions, song and dance.
By combining the power of performance with important mental health messages, High 5 encouraged children to think about how to manage daily challenges, while building essential skills for navigating life.

Keanu Buys, a member of the High 5 team, explained the purpose of the show: “The High 5 show is meant to help learners experience the thrill of theatre, while also helping them deal with the challenges of growing up in modern society,” said Buys.
