Heritage Day celebrations in ward 57 showcase South Africa's vibrant cultural diversity
The event was a resounding success, highlighting South Africa’s rich cultural diversity and history.
Attendees showcased their best traditional outfits, while the programme included a magic show, religious talks, and performances by traditional dancers.
The City of Johannesburg Parks and Recreation Department contributed to the event by sponsoring sound equipment, ensuring a smooth and memorable experience.

The celebrations also served as a platform for social cohesion, healing, and economic development, encouraging the community to embrace and share their customs and traditions.

Ward 57 Councillor Faeeza Chame expressed her gratitude to the community: “I am humbled by the turnout and enthusiasm. The event showcased the community’s vibrant spirit and commitment to preserving their heritage,” she said.
