Radley students explore sustainable farming at Mall of the South

Grade 11 learners get hands-on experience with community gardening, enjoying fresh produce and taking home seeds to grow at home.

On September 24, Mall of the South, in partnership with SOJO Business & Tourism, welcomed Grade 11 students from Radley Private School to its Community Farm in Townsview, Joburg south.

The event aimed to educate attendees about sustainable farming practices.

The students were joined by their entrepreneurship, science and biology teachers, as well as ladies from St Patrick’s Church in La Rochelle and a representative from the Department of Agriculture.

Guests enjoyed refreshments made from fresh garden herbs and produce, including mint iced tea and cheese rolls with lettuce and rocket.
