Medical Wellness Clinic Day at South Hills Recreation Centre
South Hills residents received free medical care and spiritual support at a wellness clinic hosted by the Care Network International and local partners.
The South Hills Recreation Centre became a hub of hope for the community and surrounding areas when members received primary healthcare services from the Care Network International medical practitioners, supported by India Cares, Meals on Wheels, and Caregivers South Africa, on October 18.
Those who attended received vital checks, HIV testing, and spectacles, while private doctors saw others. An on-site pharmacy dispensed medication.
Among those in attendance were Legal Aid SA, Sanca, Bail 52, Bonfit, Kideology, Sex Addicts Anonymous, Khulisa Social Services, the Focus Team, Unrestricted Favour, PMatt Therapy and the Pomeroy Community Development NPO, offering physical and social wellness services. Every patient could find spiritual care, counselling and prayer through a Biblical counsellor.
The medical wellness clinic was a success thanks to the love, care and compassion of donors, sponsors and the invaluable support of various organisations.
Ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame expressed her gratitude, “It was a huge success with lots of hard work behind the scenes. Everyone who put in their time and effort made a difference to the community. Never stop changing lives.”
One of the organisers, David Sumadraji, also appreciated the support received.
