• Immunisation card or Road to Health chart

• Latest official school report

• Proof of residence

For admissions (Grades R, one and eight):

Academic records, such as the learner’s latest school report (especially for Grade Eight).

The process for applications is usually online via provincial portals (like WCED, GDE), often opening March-April, requiring parents to register details and upload documents.

General readiness:

• Stationery and supplies will be provided by schools via a list outlining the required items.

• Uniforms and sportswear for learners should fit them well for comfort and to adhere to uniform regulations.

• Test home Wi-Fi, check device updates, and ensure your child can access online platforms for assignments.

• Book a health check for the learner at a GP, dental, or optometrist, depending on the learner’s needs, before school starts.

• Complete the five-step process for online admissions (register, address, learner, schools, upload) and check for missing documents.

• Proximity matters for school placement, which prioritises learners living close to the school, so use your actual address.
