WATCH: Mandela Day service brings smiles to Nkosi’s Haven

The outreach reflects Southgate Mall’s belief that small acts of kindness can bring hope and create lasting change.

Southgate Mall and its partners celebrated Mandela Day by spending the day serving the community at Nkosi’s Haven.

The initiative demonstrated the mall’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable families and making a positive difference in children’s lives.

As part of the Mandela Day activities, volunteers worked together to refurbish and improve the children’s play area at Nkosi’s Haven.

The team helped create a cleaner, safer and more welcoming space where children can enjoy their time. Groceries and essential supplies were also donated to support the families living at the centre.

The day was made special with the support and involvement of Southgate Mall’s valued partners, including centre management staff, We Serve Landscaping, Falcon Arrow Spur Southgate Mall, Legends Barber Southgate Mall, Eldos Taxi Association (JSSTA), Mondeor SAPS Junior Commissioners, Oryx Cleaning and Clr Sekhue Matsobane of Ward125.

Adding to the excitement of the day, Legends Barber Southgate Mall gave the boys at Nkosi’s Haven fresh haircuts, helping them feel confident and cared for, while Falcon Arrow Spur Southgate Mall treated the children to special meals, creating joyful moments they could share and remember.

Speaking about the initiative, general manager of Southgate Mall, Selina Seitshiro said: “Mandela Day inspires every person to become an agent of positive change.”
