Joburg south residents unite for annual cancer awareness event in Ward 57

Annual Cancer Awareness event celebrates survivors under theme of compassion and support.

The annual cancer awareness event held on October 11 at Buena Vista Country Estate in Towerby has been described as a beautiful and memorable occasion.

A heartfelt thanks was extended to sponsors, speakers, guests and the community for their support.

“Thank you to everyone who made this event possible,” said Ward 56 councillor Faeeza Chame.

The day was about more than raising cancer awareness. It was about celebrating courage, resilience, love, compassion and support.

A special tribute was paid to cancer survivors, whose strength and courage were honoured on the day. Their stories served as a powerful reminder that hope lives on, even in the most difficult moments.

The event was marked by a beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, breathtaking scenery and wonderful company, creating a space for people to bond, share experiences and create new friendships.

Generous sponsors were thanked for their contributions, with organisers noting that without their support, the event would not have been possible.

“The gathering was held under the theme ‘We see you, we hear you, we feel your pain’,” said Chame.
