Metro World Child SA honors excellence in education at awards gala.
The Metro World Child South Africa Student Awards & Teachers appreciation gala took place on February 6 at the Lido Hotel in Joburg south.
The event recognised outstanding students, dedicated educators, and value-based leadership across Gauteng, as attendees came from Joburg south and across South Africa to attend the prize-giving ceremony.
With the gala, Metro World Child SA honoured individuals contributing to the Metro World Child mission, which is to help vulnerable children across the country.

Teachers, students, volunteers, and sponsors received recognition for their work in educating children, providing opportunities, and offering advice.

The organisation also provides meals and after-school programmes, empowering children and young people.
City of Johannesburg speaker Margaret Arnolds attended the event, congratulating Metro World Child and sharing her story.

“My daughter overcame bullying at school thanks to Glisson and the Metro World Child team,” said Arnolds.
“It’s heartwarming to see the impact Metro World Child has on young lives, and we’re committed to partnering with them to create more opportunities for our city’s youth,” she continued.
Glisson Niekerk, a director at Metro World Child, expressed his gratitude for the recognition.

“We are humbled by the support we receive and are dedicated to continuing our mission to empower children and young people across South Africa,” Niekerk said.
