Growing up, I was taught that there is no such thing as black or white, but people should not be defined by the colour of their skin, as we are all human beings.

According to the article on April 1, the main problem seems to be that a white politician has joined what is believed to be a black dominated political party. This is exactly what Nelson Mandela and the rest of our political veterans fought for, freedom of expression and preference of choice. When Mr Mandela passed away in December last year, it was these white individuals who were singing the loudest praises to the father of our nation, yet they are practising the

opposite of what they fought for.

As Ms Turk has joined the ANC, good for her. She should not be judged by the choice she made, but by the actions that shall follow her choice, and to all these racist people having all these negative comments about a community leader who is trying to improve our community, why not get off your couch and try making a change in the South.
