The Democratic Alliance councillors in the City of Johannesburg are extremely concerned about the continuous water and power outages the residents of the City of Johannesburg experienced during the last week.
Not only do these outages outrage our residents and city dwellers, but leads to a severe lack of confidence in the city council’s ability to secure service to its inhabitants and businesses.
It can have a devastating effect on attracting new businesses to the city and dash the business confidence in the city that so desperately needs job creation for its young inhabitants. It is a clear indication that the ANC authorities running the city have no plan in running the city or to deliver on its promises.
The residents of Johannesburg not only experience severe shortages and outages of water and electricity, but go under a severe administration disaster in the billing department of the city, and we would not even elaborate on other departments of the city. It appears that the top officials of the city have lost the plot in running a mega city.
Unfortunately the continuous power and water shortages recently is an absolute indication and proof to the city’s residents that they cannot and should not trust the current regime to continue to run the city.
