We the residents of Reuven Complex Old Age Home, regard ourselves very fortunate and blessed by always receiving from organisations, NGOs, religious organisations, businesses, schools and churches and individuals who continue to contribute their services or entertain the elderly.
Lunches, food parcels, tea parties, concerts, singing and dancing, sometimes the elderly women’s hair or their nails and feet are attended to.
We have so many to thank and there are many who do not leave their names or organisation details for us to contact them, but they are all in our prayers and we ask God to bless them all abundantly and may they prosper in whatever they do.
The following are some of the organisation we wish to thank:
• Mondeor High School pupils and teachers for the tea party and song rendered by the pupils.
• Mondeor ER24 South Base and Turffontein Fire Station for their swift response which saved the life of one of our resident who suffered heart failure.
• The Muslim Organisation for the lunch.
• Mr Pillay and his team of volunteers who served the residents with lunch, fruit and cake as well as hats.
• Erika Becker and Wendy Winter for the kind contribution.
• The Pastor and church council of Shekwah Glorious Faith Ministries for the food parcels.
• Sue Lubbe and Friends who at all times offer their services at Reuven.
• Christine Crossley and Meals on Wheels for their never ending service.
We know there are many others not mentioned, but they will always be in our prayers. We would also like to thank the news editor of Southern Courier, Lucky Thusi, and the editor, Carina van der Walt, for always covering our stories and our complaints.
Caroline Ngoasheng, chairperson for Reuven Resident’s Committee
