Thanks for caring
I want to express my gratitude towards Manny De Freitas for arranging this. It is extraordinary to me that a Member of Parliament cares so much about ordinary citizens that he would even help out with something as small as a badly maintained road in the suburbs. Manny, as resident of the complex, I am very pleased that you care enough to get the job done! Well done!

I live in a townhouse complex on Colworth Avenue and have on many occasions reported the potholes in front of the entrance gate of our complex. Sometimes it took weeks or even months to get someone out to fix the problem, and they always did a slapdash job of the repairs.
Eventually a resident got hold of Manny De Freitas, who is the DA member of parliament for Johannesburg South, and informed him of the problem. Imagine my surprise when less than a month later I drove out my gate and found the council workers hard at work resurfacing the entire road.

I am also grateful to Councillor Peter Stewart of the DA, who escalated a water leak that we had reported on several occasions and just could not get fixed. The water was running for almost a month, while we get told to save water. Peter walked the extra mile and got the job done. The leak was fixed last Friday. Thank you, Peter. He also helped out with the power outage that we experienced a couple of weeks ago. After reporting it to Peter, the power was back on in a couple of hours and he gave me feedback on the progress continually. Much appreciated.
It is such a refreshing experience for me to have political representatives who are approachable and go out of their way to get problems sorted out. Thank you for caring about your residents and voters.
Thankful resident, Colworth Manor
