2014 South Africa Danone Nations Cup was played on Saturday June 28 at WJ Clements Stadium.
2014 SOUTH Africa Danone Nations Cup Champions will be represented by Siphumelele Primary School. They beat Farrarmere Primary School 3-2 in penalties.
In a nail-biting affair the two primary schools from their respective provinces played to a 0-0 draw. In a very tight final between the two primary schools none of them gave much away during the match. While Farrarmere might have had the better in the first half, Siphumelele has definitely had the better in the second half.
The finals were decided on a penalty shoot-out and Siphumelele Primary School won by way of a penalty shoot-out.
The finals of 2014 South Africa Danone Nations Cup was played on Saturday June 28 at WJ Clements Stadium, where the primary school teams from the nine provinces met to determine the champions. The champions will advance to the international play-off, which will take place in Brazil. The winner of the tournament will play in the World Finals in Sao Paulo, Brazil on November 16.
It is the world’s biggest football tournament for children between the ages of 10 and 12, (u.12 category). Every year since 2000, around 2.5 million children take part in local, regional and then national Danone Nations Cup competitions, before the winners fly off to compete in the World Final. In each of the 32 participating countries, Danone’s subsidiaries organise their national tournaments in partnership with the local Sports Federations and/or State Education and Sports Ministries.
Over 34 000 schools and 11 000 clubs from all around the world are involved.
