MTN8 set to start the soccer season
MTN has renewed its sponsorship deal with the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
THE MTN8 are set to start the 2016/2017 season when the eight finalists meet this week.
MTN8 was launched on Wednesday, August 17, and at this occasion it was announced that the MTN8 sponsorship has been renewed for a further five years.
The new deal between PSL and MTN will run up to 2022.
The 2016/17 edition of the popular tournament kicked off on Friday, August 26, with the 2015/16 Premier Soccer League top eight finishers all fighting it out for one of the most lucrative cup competitions on the African continent, with the winning team set to pocket a whopping R8-million.
PSL chairman Dr Irvin Khoza said, “For the past eight years, MTN has been a valuable partner to the league, and as we renew our vows for a further five years of what has been a great partnership, we hope that this relationship will grow stronger and continue to be a mutually benefiting one. We thank MTN for once again trusting this strong brand of football to carry their message and to connect with the millions of passionate football supporters in this country. Through this renewal with MTN, we are once again reminded that football remains a very attractive platform for the corporate world.”
The MTN8 has been a permanent feature of the PSL season since 2008, and is synonymous with fantastic activities that excite football fans while offering MTN customers several opportunities to win big during the tournament.
