THE Sasol Global Touring Cars are already on track with the second edition, which has already commenced on Saturday, March 25.
The first race of the second season has officially set off at Killarney raceway in Cape Town.
The Gauteng racing fraternity will be able to watch this exciting series continue on home soil on Saturday, April 22.
The championship will be steered into the new season with Michael Stephen defending his title in the GTC series.
Five teams will rev up in the GTC top class from March 25 to November 25.
Stephen will be joined by Simon Moss in the Engen Extreme Audi A3 GTC team.
Chasing the title this year will be runner-up of 2016, Gennaro Bonafede in his Sasol BMW, together with newly appointed teammate Robert Wolk, who will be racing in the second Sasol BMW.
In the Volkswagen Jetta GTC team will be driver Mathew Hodges and the current GTC2 champion Daniel Rowe, who will be racing in the second Jetta GTC car.
Veteran John Fourie will be in full flight in the EPS Couriers BMW GTC and amply assisted by Michael van Rooyen.
The GTC2 champions Volkswagen 2016 have built two new Golf GTIs for Mandla Mdakane and the new kid on the block, 17-year-old Keagan Masters.
Thus the race is on for this extremely well-organised GTC 2017 series with Sasol, which has been a sponsor for over 50 years in motor sport.
Sasol will once again be the naming rights sponsor and fuel supplier as well as broadcast sponsor.
