A white Collar Boxing event is planned on May 29 at Club House Grill to celebrate the success of the Box Office Gymnasium, which turns 21 years old in May.
Many champions such as Paul Kamanga, Jason Bedeman, Tyrone Willemse, the Aidan Heroes like Richard van der Walt, Mike Batten, Neill Knott, Gerald Oliver and the ever-popular Warren le Roux were part of the club having mega fights at the famous Southern Giant Event. In this premier event awards such as both Anton Gilmore Prospect Promoter of the Year award and Trainer of the Year were won.
Kamanga called his old coach and said, “I know you have been closed for a while so I will fight at the event and celebrate the gym’s birthday.”
Kamanga is a former WBA super lightweight division African champion. Finding him an exhibition opponent was going to be hard but Xolisane Nomeva stepped up. Nomeva is a former SA Champion and IBO World champion with four other titles to his name.
Club House Grill will be the venue for the reunion 21-year event. Altogether seven other white-collar bouts will take place. There are tables and casual seating available for this event.
