Vodacom Bulls stun Leinster with last-minute penalty
Late drama at Loftus as Vodacom Bulls end Leinster’s unbeaten run despite a red card.

The Vodacom Bulls secured a thrilling 21-20 victory over Leinster at Loftus Versfeld, ending the Irish side’s unbeaten streak in the Vodacom URC.

A last-minute penalty by David Kriel sealed the win after the Bulls fought back despite being reduced to 14 players.

Leinster led 10-6 at halftime, but the second half saw intense action. The visitors extended their lead early on, but the Bulls responded with a penalty try after Leinster was penalized for illegal mauling. Johan Grobbelaar’s try in the 70th minute put the Bulls ahead 18-17.

However, a red card for Sebastian de Klerk gave Leinster an opening, and Ross Byrne’s penalty put them back in front at 20-18.

Despite the setback, the Bulls kept pushing and won a crucial scrum penalty in injury time, which Kriel slotted to clinch the victory. The result boosts the Bulls’ chances of a top-two finish in the competition.
