WATCH: 4 Diversity High soccer players fly the school’s flag high

In the recent tournament organised by VYG, Diversity High School netball team came third.

Members of the Victory Youth Group (VYG) visited Diversity High School to officially hand over the runners-up soccer trophy on October 20.

This followed a recent tournament hosted by VYG, in which the school participated in Hyde Park.

VYG representatives Kamo Sephesu, Buhle Khumalo, and Jonathan Martins attended the school assembly, where Sports Organiser Shiko Thantsha and Deputy Principal Maki Nekhavhambe assisted in presenting the trophy and medals.

Four outstanding players were selected to participate in a development programme monitored by Chippa United FC. The learners chosen are Teboho Ramaru, Sihle Khumalo, Yolanda Khumalo, and Maila Masekele.

Martins confirmed the partnership with Chippa United FC. “We look for potential players who can play in the first division. Four of the learners here at Diversity have the opportunity to reach that level. We congratulate them and invite more learners to participate in our upcoming events.

“Our youth project searches for talent and nurtures it. We also provide motivational talks and raise awareness about mental health. We work with almost 100 schools to help strengthen relationships between learners and teachers. VYG is a youth power group dedicated to developing young minds,” he said.
