Corinthians launches STEAM center to boost community youth development
Learning hub to drive educational and cultural growth in the Joburg south community.
The Corinthians community organisation, based in La Rochelle, Johannesburg, has unveiled its new STEAM Centre.
This is a local initiative designed to empower young people through science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics education while also creating income streams to sustain Corinthians’ broader community programmes.
The centre offers a comprehensive programme that includes homework assistance, exam preparation and extra lessons (available for an additional fee).

The STEAM-focused curriculum covers hands-on science experiments, modelling and study; technology training in coding, computer literacy and animated creativity; engineering projects that involve building, creating and designing; art classes featuring number art, story illustration, shape art and map sketching; and mathematics lessons on counting, measuring and calculating.
In addition to academic enrichment, the centre offers extracurricular activities, including sports and dance classes.

Operating Monday to Friday from 13:30 to 17:00, the STEAM Centre is located at the corner of 11th Street and Forest Street, La Rochelle.
These classes will have an affordable payment structure that allows all community members to participate.
The community project aims to generate revenue for Corinthians Africa, enabling the organisation to continue and expand its initiatives that benefit local youth and the broader community.
