Birds-eye view for Glenvista students
Glenvista High School’s Tourism students are a very energetic and inquisitive group of students. They enjoy the subject immensely and learn eagerly every lesson.
GLENVISTA – It encourages all learners to become responsible consumers of the tourism product and related services.
It is the study of the activities, services and industries that deliver a travel experience to groups or individuals. It is also a study of the expectations and behaviour of tourists and the economic, social and environmental impact of tourism on South Africa.
Tourism empowers learners to understand the related services in the tourism industry, the interdependence of sectors and sub-sectors and the benefit tourism brings to the South African economy.
To bring a more practical aspect of the subject to life the pupils are taken on excursions. The Grade 11 group went on a trip on the Gautrain from Rosebank station to Hatfield, observing some of the interesting attractions our province has to offer along the way.
The Grade 12 group went on a tour through Johannesburg on the City Sightseeing bus. This open top bus gave students the opportunity to get an almost birds-eye view of the beautiful Jozie.
