Vehicle recovered after armed robbery at Checkers

Acting on a tip off received on Wednesday June 4 at 08:00, two of Glenvista Community Forum patrollers recovered the black Toyota Tazz which was hijacked last night by armed robbers at the Glenvista Shopping Centre.

TURFFONTEIN –   The hijacked vehicle was found by the patrollers on Hay Street Turfontein. It’s seemingly abandoned and the scene is being handed over to investigators.

It is hoped the vehicle will reveal fingerprints and other evidence that may advance this investigation and lead to arrests.

“Thank you to the alert Glenvista resident who sent us this information and to our team. From all our patrollers that were on scene until late last night, to our victim support ladies who counselled the victims, to our administrators that run our systems and data base and to Mondeor SAPS. This community truly stands together,” said a spokesperson from Glenvista Community Forum.
