NFP expels treasurer-general
Treasurer-general Xolani Ndlovu was found guilty for the blunder which led to the party's exclusion from the local elections.

THE National Freedom Party (NFP) informed the media that it expelled its former treasurer-general, Xolani Ndlovu, after he was found guilty of various offences during a recent disciplinary hearing.
According to the NFP, Ndlovu was hauled before the party’s disciplinary processes following the party’s failure to contest the local municipal elections due to the blunder he caused when he “erroneously” forgot to pay the IEC the required deposit.
Ndlovu was subsequently suspended pending the outcome of the investigations. He faced the following five charges: misappropriation of party funds; act of gross dishonesty or corruption; false representation or deception within the party with an intention of advancing one’s motives; engaging in a behaviour that is deemed to bring the party into disrepute and any other act of misconduct that would constitute just cause dismissal.
Ndlovu was found guilty on all the charges and has subsequently been expelled from the NFP as a member and employee with immediate effect.
“We therefore wish to formally inform our members and supporters that Ndlovu has been officially expelled. During all the disciplinary hearings, not once did he show up, instead he sent a representative, claiming he feared for his life.
“Even after the hearing was moved from the NFP offices to the KZN Legislature to accommodate this supposed fear, he never showed up despite the legislature having cameras and SAPS members throughout the day,” said NFP acting national chairperson Bheki Gumbi.
