CoJ workers put in extra hours to fight a heavy leak until at 23:00 at night.
NUMEROUS Kibler Park residents are proud of workers who put in extra hours to fight a water leak that occurred in Peggy Vera Road in the morning of Monday, November 14.
The pipe burst in the morning and concerned locals who immediately reported as litres of fresh water gushed out from a burst 1.5cm cement pipe.
The workers from the City struggled to fix the leak for many hours until it was eventually fixed at 23:00.
The area had various other small leaks in the past but they were not this bad as this particular leak which collapsed a wall and left debris loose on the road, blocking one lane of Peggy Vera, just around the spot.
A proud Mohammad Dewan, said: “These guys did a very impressive and great job. They worked as a great team and I was there to see them work until they finished at night at 23:00. They deserve to be applauded.”
DA ward 25 clr, Peter Stewart said he was very proud of the work that was done by the workers because this was no ordinary leak and caused numerous homes to be without water.
“I was also particularly impressed by the residents and the nature at which they were concerned about the leak because this is that time when we need to save water. That leak was like a waterfall, there was great work done to fix that,” added Clr Stewart.
