7 ANIMAL Protection Network (APN), in partnership with the Brackenhurst Veterinary Clinic, is calling out to the community to please donate money towards the sterilisation of pets from underprivileged households, in an attempt to reduce breeding. On October 7, APN Alberton is doing their second Spayathon with the Brackenhurst Veterinary Hospital doctors and staff. The pets they will be sterilising are from underprivileged, homeless or unemployed households and even though they are asking only R300 to sterilise a pet, it has been noted that some folk still cannot afford to pay this. Donations of food, collars, leads, blankets, and snacks to feed the owners who will be waiting with their pets on the day will also be more than welcome. 7 THE slopes of Melville Koppies roll out through suburbia into the distant Magaliesberg range. Come and experience nature and join the next guided group tour through Melville Koppies Central. The tour can take up to three hours. Sets off at 3pm sharp so please arrive well in time. Park in the upper parking area at Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia, then walk across Judith to our entrance opposite. Cost is R60 for adults and R40 for children. 26-27 HENLEY Performing Arts is proud to present the 2018 revue Making Henley Grate Again with a series of sketches referring to sometimes hilarious happenings in the little village. 1 ALBERTON SPCA is holding its annual golf day on November 1 with a shotgun start at noon. The event will take place at the Reading Country Club and registrations will open at 10am.
