On September 14, the JMPD Undercover Unit responded to a radio message for backup after a business was robbed in Fairland near Cresta Mall, where the suspects were shooting at officers of JMPD Freeway Unit.
Wayne Minnaar, JMPD spokesperson, said upon arrival, the JMPD Freeway Unit arrested one suspect and the Undercover Unit arrested a second suspect.
“Two vehicles were confiscated and an illegal firearm was recovered. Two other suspects managed to escape, and there were no injuries.
The two suspects will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court,” he said.
