Alrode South business empowers community outreach programme
In an effort to make a difference, The Mushroom Ritz, an Alrode South business, donated ready-to-eat meals on October 8.
The instant nourishment packs were received by Kasie Outreach, a faith-based community programme that reaches out to most underprivileged parts of Ekurhuleni.
These packs of different flavours will be handed over to needy families as well as the homeless.
Since its inception in 2018, Kasie Outreach has been working towards making a difference in the community.
Raj Chowthree of The Mushroom Ritz told the RECORD that initially the packs were produced in order to be sold but they then decided to give back.
“We have also donated these to local churches and we think it is only right that we give back to those in need. They were given to us by the person that previously rented this work place.
“We decided to donate them to Kasie Outreach after seeing what they do through social media,” he said.
He said the meals are rich in nutrients and range from strawberry, banana and vanilla flavour.
Members of Kasie Outreach thanked the business for its heartfelt support.
