Mother and son self-defence training on Mother’s Day

The mothers and sons learnt self-defence together.

St Declan’s School for Boys hosted a mother and son self-defence class on May 8.

This self-defence class was organised in the spirit of Mother’s Day for mothers and sons to do something together.

St Declan’s invited Jotham Broom and his assistants from Israeli Krav International, who has a dojo at Rietvlei Zoo Farm, to conduct the class. They were taught the basics of self-defence and what to do in threatening situations.

“It’s important for ladies to know how to defend themselves, so they can walk in the streets safely and with confidence,” said Broom.
