‘Vaccination against the virus is our best shot’

An Alberton North resident, Rina Mowbray (65), went for her Covid-19 vaccination on May 17 at the Bertha Gxowa Hospital in Germiston South.
Rina told the RECORD that not only did she get the vaccination for herself, but for the rest of her family and friends.
“I did it to help keep them safe,” she said.

Rina’s experience
When Rina went to the hospital she expected very long queues, but that was not the case.
“There was a short queue and everyone had a chair to sit on. All Covid-19 regulations were adhered to.”
She said the whole process took an hour.
“When I got to the front the nurse greeted me and explained everything about the vaccine to me. It did not even hurt when she injected me, I did not feel a thing,” said Rina.
She said she did not suffer from any side-effects.
“I felt healthy and the same as before I got my vaccination.”

Consider it
Rina said more people should consider the Covid-19 vaccine.
“Yes, there is a lot of stories on social media regarding it, but at the end of the day vaccination against Covid-19 is our best shot.
“Once you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing more and there is no need to live in isolation any more. I did it because I am tired of living in isolation. This virus stole a lot from our people already. We have to do something,” she said.
