The Allianz Arena football stadium in Munich, Bavaria, Germany played host to the fifth edition of the Audio Cup 2017 which kicked off yesterday.

The tourney is ranked very high. Pundits and other football fanatics have over the years had the opportunity to witness world giants like Barcelona, Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid battling it out on the field for this prestigious trophy.

The first semi-final game was between Atletico Madrid and Napoli. Madrid were trailing by 1-0 before making a convincing comeback scoring 2 quick goals to win the game.

José Callejón (56 min) hit the back of the net for Napoli before Fernando Torres (72 min) levelled and Luciano Vietto (81 min) could score the winner.

Bayern, who are the defending champions, were thrashed 3-0 by  Merseyside (Liverpool) in the second semi-final match.

It was a delightful comeback for Sadio Mane who scored the first goal for Liverpool after a knee injury which ended his 2016/17 season early during a competitive match with Everton.

The club’s new signing, Mohamed Salah headed in the second goal and Daniel Sturridge, who came in straight from the bench, netted the third goal.
