The four-day tournament, starting Friday, April 3, will feature 16 teams battling it out for glory and cash prizes.
The organisers include Jabulani Nzimande, Thami Mbanjwa, Sfiso Letshole and Chicco Ndlovu.

According to one of the organisers and manager of Amaywepeywepe FC, Ndlovu, 10 teams have already confirmed their participation, with more expected to join before the event starts.

The stakes are high, with the first prize set at R40 000 and second prize R8 000. Each team pays a R3 000 affiliation fee, while match officials are supported through a R150 match fee per team.

Semi-finals and finals will take place on Monday, April 6.
“The tournament is about more than just winning,” Ndlovu said. “It unites communities from Kliptown and surrounding areas. Football is a way to bring young people together and build connections.”
The KECT started three years ago, and organisers say it has grown each year.
“We grew up here, and we have seen how important football is in the community,” said Ndlovu. “We want this tournament to go further every year and give our youth opportunities to showcase their talent.”
