New school year begins

New school year begins for everyone.

Crisp white shirts and shining black shoes were the order of the day last Wednesday as it was the start of the new school year.

Pupils were excited for different reasons, some were going to school for the very first time while others had been promoted to higher grades.

It was apparent that parents, pupils and teachers from the township were ready to begin the year on a good note.

Kwame Bopape looked sharp and was very excited to see not only his new friends, but also his old friends.

The seven-year-old will be attending Grade Two at the St Peter Clever Primary School in Pimville.

He said he was very happy that he was going back to school.

Noxolo Motale was overwhelmed with joy as she had been promoted to Grade Three.

The petite eight-year-old said she was ready for school and said she would do her best to pass in the first term.

She was excited and looked very confident as she got ready for school.

Siphesihle Nkosi, however, looked very school confused as he was going to start ‘big school’.

The Grade One pupil at St Peter Clever Primary School didn’t cry even though he looked very confused.
