Senior citizens celebrate Valentines Day

Tsosoloso Support Group spend Valentines Day at Mandela Family Restaurant in Orlando West.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day the senior citizens of Tsosoloso Support Group in Orlando East spent the day at Mandela Family Restaurant in Orlando West.

Tsosoloso Support Group is a collective of senior citizens who meet every week to exercise and to do some needle work.

“The grannies came to me and said that they want to go somewhere special for Valentine’s Day. Most of them sit at home all day and look after their grandchildren so they really needed this outing so they can just relax and unwind,” said Amelia Masengo the founder of Tsosoloso Support Group.

The senior citizens spent a relaxed afternoon at the restaurant enjoying good food and each other’s company.

Daina Mohapi said that it feels good to be out and not sitting at home doing nothing. “We I feel so good to be here today I am feeling so relaxed I wish we could do this more often,” she said.

This is a day that we celebrate love the love we have for each other and our families and we are also celebrating the anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s release,” Mohapi.

Lizzy Rasodi said that she is thankful to Masengo for been for starting Tsosoloso Support Group.

When she started the support group they was only four of us but she did not lose patience she carried on. She is such a caring and humble person and we thank her for all her efforts,” she said.
